Bahrain and Kuwait come together to develop the ICT sector, here’s how

Bahrain and Kuwait government just signed a MoU in the field of cloud computing. The agreement was signed by the Chief Executive of the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Mohamed Ali AlQaed, and the Chief Executive and Chairman of the Communication & Information Technology Regulatory Authority (Citra) Engineer Salim Muthib AlOzainah.

The agreement signed basically facilitates the government processes, increases efficiency and contributes in speeding the implementation or projects, all while maintaining the security and confidentiality of information and data.

According to Engineer Salim Muthib AlOzainah, the agreement with Bahrain demonstrate the strong ties between the neighboring countries. He also mentioned that these initiatives are important as it falls in line with Kuwait’s Vision 2035 that aims at supporting eTransformation.

Furthermore, Mohamed Ali AlQaed highlights the positive impacts that come from this MoU as it will help them develop, enhance, and sustain the quality of services provided to users; in addition to providing the appropriate environment to attract more foreign investments to the region.

He also points out that Bahrain is always happy to exchange experiences with all countries which support government direction in developing government services and accelerating eTransformation in all sectors.

It’s worth noting that in 2017 Bahrain has adopted the ‘Cloud First’ Policy in the public sector – making it the first Arab country to adopt such a policy and one of the first worldwide.
