AngelHack to kick off its Global Hackathon Series in two Middle Eastern cities

As part of its Global Hackathon series, Global tech community platform AngelHack is coming to Dubai and Ramallah in the Middle East with the aim of bridging the gap between Silicon Valley and entrepreneurs around the world.

This year’s theme is under the umbrella of “Seamless Technology” where they’re inviting participants to showcase and challenge their entrepreneurial spirit to create an innovative solution that’s going to bring positive changed to the world.

Dubai’s edition will be taking place at DTEC Technohub in Dubai Silicon Oasis, on August 3-4, while the one in Ramallah will be held at the Bank of Palestine on August 9-10. The hackathon will be held for two consecutive says and it’s going to include workshops, sessions on team building, coding sessions, and final demos and presentations. The projects will be evaluated and judged based on a criteria which will include the fundability of the idea, its execution, the end-to-end user experience, its originality, and scalability.

Innovators of all ages, genders, and skill sets are welcome to apply as long as they’re solo or have a team of up to five. This is the perfect opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to learn new skills, meet likeminded people from the tech community and network.

So what’s in it for you? Besides the grand prize, there are other partner and sponsor challenges participants can compete for. Winners of the hackathon will receive an invite to participate in AngelHacks HACKcelerator program. In addition, teams solving a social or environmental problem will be eligible for the Code for A Cause Impact Award Challenge, and all attendees will be receiving a $100 Amazon Web Services credits. There are also some other location-specific perks from Dubai Business Women Council and Careem.

Some of the jury panelists of Dubai’s edition include Mohamed Hegazy, Watson and Cloud Leader, IBM, Aya Sadder, Incubator Manager, Intelak, Hans Henrik Christensen, Vice President – Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, and others. The community partners of the event are Dubai Business Women Council, Ibtikar Fund, Growth for Training & Development, and others.
