Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport (DMAT) announced that its Integrated Transport Information and Navigation System (iTINS) ‘Darb’ was one of the top 40 mobile apps that were recognized by the World Summit Award (WSA). The event was organized by the International Media Center, which is a non-profit organization in Salzburg, Austria that collaborates with the UN to serve the community.
Darb was among the best five apps that play a role in improving the Smart Settlements and Urbanizations for the WSA 2016. Head of Transport System in (ITC) Salah Al Marzouqi said: “Winning the award is an indication of the department’s efforts to comply with the government’s guidance and in line with the Abu Dhabi Plan 2030. It also follows the Surface Transport Master Plan and the Intelligent Transport Integrated System to maintain an integrated infrastructure to transport network. That is in order to provide the community with smart services and make it happier.”
