A startup in tourism? Check out UAE’s Intelak Program

Got a new unique business idea that you’d like to implement? Then we reckon you join the fifth cohort of the Intelak Incubator Program, led by the Emirates Group, GE and Dubai Tourism.

The Intelak program was launched two years ago to scout for ideas and business concepts in the field of aviation, tourism, and travel.

According to a recently released report, the program has had a positive impact on the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the UAE, especially as the principal partners have contributed around AED 1.6 million in seed funding and in-kind support (technology, mentoring, and access to resources and equipment).

So far, the program received over 1,000 applications in total, graduating 16 teams. Additionally, Intelak has worked with more than 80 teams through their innovation bootcamp, and has organized over 50 workshops. Not only that, but Intelak’s Idea Lab has also provided support to over 30 Emirati innovators in transforming their ideas into reality.

Some of their graduated startups include UIQT Inc, 16Trips, Airspace, and Travezy. Those four startups have received seed-funding of AED 50,000 in addition to a sixty-day intensive mentoring program with industry experts from Dubai Technology and Entrepreneurship Centre (DTEC)
