The Hottest Performances at STEP Music 2017 Include A Bahraini Artist! Mark Your Calendars NOW!

On April 7, 2017, STEP Music, in partnership with Anghami, will bring together the coolest artists, record labels, and music junkies for a day packed with nonstop entertainment. You don’t want to miss it — and we’ve got the promo code for you to use to get in (sneak peek: it’s 30A93KJH).

You’ll get to see leaders of grassroots indie movements, record label executives, big-name producers and star performers.

There will be dope live performances from some of the best independent talent in the region, with English- and Arabic-language artists from a wide range of countries covering a host of different genres, from indie-rock to hip-hop and everything in between.

Here are musicians we’re super pumped to hear at the event!

  1. Daffy and Flipperachi: The Kuwaiti-Bahraini hip-hop who are part of Outlaw Productions duo made waves last summer when they dropped the notorious “Ee La” single which currently has over 10 million YouTube views. If you haven’t checked the music video out yet, you’re missing out. They also released 9ARAT album which has great tracks. Seeing them live is an experience not to be missed.
  2. Mashrou Leila: Lebanese art-rock icons Mashrou’ Leila will be headlining the STEP 2017 conference and we can’t contain our excitement. Their indie vibes have stolen our hearts (and energies) at performances before, so we’re super thrilled to see them perform soon.
  3. Malikah: Outspoken Arab female rapper whose debut album, Archive, is out now. Lebanon’s proclaimed “queen of Arabic hip-hop”, according to a Vogue Arabia article. Curious about her music? Check it out here.
  4. The Wanton Bishops: Lebanese rockers mix raw blues-rock with Oriental and electronic music. Their high-energy English performances can only be witnessed live, so don’t miss out on seeing them perform!
  5. Narcy: Iraqi-Canadian MC and artist Yassin Alsalman made his mark in the Arab hip-hop scene, bringing important issues to light in his music such as education, media, and cultural heritage.
  6. Saffron Collins: Dubai-based 16-year-old gifted singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Her debut EP, How’s That, was released on September 1, 2015 featuring her indie-pop/rock/acoustic vibes. We can’t wait to see how Saffron showcases her own style and unique sound at STEP 2017.
