Meddy: Connecting Patients And Doctors

Meddy started out as a classroom project.

“It was meant for a lean startup course in Carnegie Mellon University,” narrated Haris Aghadi,  Co-Founder and CEO. “Our initial plan was different – like a LinkedIn for doctors.”

Obviously, it did not take off. That is why Meddy shifted its focus on patients.

“Pretty much everyone was struggling to find a good doctor,” explained Haris. “Instead of the trial and error, we created an online platform where people can conveniently find all the required information on doctors, including patient reviews, to help with the decision making.”

“Getting content on doctors and clinics is the main challenge. We have to make phone calls and visits to get sufficient data about them,” said Haris.

When asked about Meddy being the best startup in SeedStars, Haris said that Meddy was already monetizing when they presented it. That probably helped.

Although promising, Meddy still had room for improvement.

“A way of understanding how your customers feel during every interaction with your product and how it can be improved.”

We can’t wait for Meddy to expand.
