Florence is giving Bahrain a taste of Mediterranean.
“Bahrain is a young and open country with a huge cultural diversity that gives you many opportunities,” explained Svenja, the German-owner of Florence. “It was always my dream to have my own business, especially related to food and hospitality, so when the opportunity knocked on the door, I took it.”
Of course, starting it is not as easy as one can hope.
“The challenge was surely the intense competition,” explained Svenja. “The materials and equipments are also very limited since Bahrain is a small country. You have to outsource a lot or manufacture it yourself.”
To make the restaurant stand out, Svenja had a plan.
“Florence is authentic, friendly and very peaceful,” said Svenja. “Our goal was always to open an authentic restaurant that welcomes everyone and makes you feel like you are outside Bahrain enjoying delicious, healthy and freshly made. Mediterranean cuisine offers a wide variety of dishes rich in flavors and cooked with fresh ingredients.”
Svenja hopes to create a restaurant for clients to forget about their worries and to relax while they are eating.
